KITA LOCATIONS IN BONN
Features of our Facilities
An architect designed special color concepts for us that specifically match the rooms of each location. The walls, the child-friendly furniture and the hard-wearing, durable and low-maintenance wooden floors are all color-coordinated. Safety standards such as fire protection regulations, hygiene regulations and the room furnishings comply with the specifications for public daycare centers.
Our friendly house in the North of Bonn is laid out for a single group. It is located in a historic two-story building featuring parquet floors. The ground floor offers a spacious and bright multi-purpose room, which we use for motoric- and relaxation activities, baby massages, music, for lectures, seminars and meetings, for romping around, gymnastics and handicrafts. On the first and upper floor there are group rooms, a ‘snoezelroom’ (a protected space/low-stimulus environment), sleeping areas and a creative room, care areas, a kitchen and a sunny roof terrace. The office of the daycare center management is also here, plus additional sanitary- and storage facilities.
The garden offers lots of space for exploration and romping around. In addition to some pretty flower beds and bushes, there is a large sandbox, a children’s playhouse, multiple swings, slides and playing materials selected to match the ages of the children. Since we’re located close to the Rhine, we often go there to take walks along the water.
pikkolino South 1:
This facility consists of two spacious, listed semi-detached buildings that have been merged, with additional fire doors connecting them on each floor. The daycare center has a total area of 520 square meters.
pikkolino South 1 hosts three groups and features group rooms, sleeping and nursing areas, toilets and children’s toilets, an exercise room, the office of the daycare center management, a kitchen, spacious corridors and large storage rooms. A storage room for strollers is also available.
The day care center features a spacious and idyllic garden area of approx. 650 square meters. There are lawn areas, flower beds and two terraces. There is ample space for playing, romping and running around and lots to discover, explore and marvel at.
The garden is planted with flowers and bushes while awnings and parasols offer shade when the children are playing, for example in the large sandbox. There is plenty of outdoor playground equipment such as a double swing, a big bird’s nest swing, bobby cars, tractors, trainer bikes and other vehicles and smaller gadgets as well as the big pirate’s ship for playing and climbing.
pikkolino South 2:
Our third daycare center is also located in the Südstadt in the immediate vicinity of the Bonner Talweg and Poppelsdorfer Allee. A beautiful listed villa, it hosts the group of the ‘Froschkönige’ and the ‘Zaunkönige’.
The centerpiece of the house is a large hallway with a curved wooden staircase and skylight. From here you can reach the spacious sleeping areas and playrooms of both groups. There are up-to-date kitchen-, toilet- and nappy-changing areas as well as the office of the daycare center management and the staff lounge with its own kitchen.
The beautiful and idyllic garden behind the house is framed by large flowering bushes. It’s a true oasis to play in featuring a sandbox, hammock, willow tunnel, children’s playhouse, a swing, a slide and a raised flower bed.

I like working at pikkolino because of the unique atmosphere of this children’s space for learning and playing in the middle of Bonn’s Südstadt! Our comfortable house makes our daycare center stand out, and we work hand in hand as colleagues. I appreciate how we can reflect and develop our daily work as a team.
We are so thrilled that our son is looked after at pikkolino. He is so happy every morning when he arrives there that he jumps right into the outstretched and loving arms of his educators!
